Replacing worn playground equipment with a safer and more modern setup for children
The current playground equipment has shown visible wear and deterioration over time, and the association no longer considers the existing setup suitable for continued everyday use. In response, MAHOAI is moving forward with a playground improvement initiative focused on replacing the steel slide and other aging structures with a safer play environment for children and families.
The goal is not only to improve the appearance of the area, but to provide a more secure, durable, and child-friendly space that can better support regular community use. By planning the replacement carefully, the project also aims to improve long-term upkeep and reduce safety concerns tied to outdated equipment.
This initiative is being prioritized to protect children, improve daily usability, and create a playground the community can maintain with confidence over time.
Planned improvements
- Replace the existing steel slide and other playground structures affected by wear and deterioration
- Install a high-quality fiberglass playground set designed for safer and longer-lasting use
- Provide durable slides, swings for different age groups, and multi-play features that support both fun and safety
- Improve the shared play area in a way that is more practical to maintain over the long term
Community support and fundraising
To help make the replacement possible, the association is launching a bayanihan and donation drive. This gives homeowners and supporters several practical ways to contribute while keeping the initiative community-led and focused on a clear safety need.
- Voluntary monetary donations for the playground replacement fund
- Donations of recyclable materials such as plastic, paper, and glass
- Participation in recycling and collection drives that can help generate additional project funds
Why this project matters
All proceeds collected through this effort will go directly to the playground replacement project. More importantly, the initiative supports a safer and more welcoming environment for children, while giving families a shared space they can continue to use with greater confidence.
With steady homeowner support and community participation, the goal is to deliver a play area that reflects both safety and shared responsibility. Homeowners who would like to donate, support collection activities, or ask questions about the project may coordinate with the HOA office.
